In conjunction with Milan Art Week, Villa Necchi Campiglio pays tribute to Adolfo Wildt (1868–1931), a leading figure in early 20th-century Italian art. The project stems from the loan of The Pure Fool (Parsifal) to the exhibition “Baroque: The Grand Theatre of Ideas” in Forlì, and the simultaneous arrival in Milan of The Mask of Pain (Self-Portrait), initiating a collaborative dialogue between institutions.
The exhibition is further enhanced by three significant works from private collections: The Widow, The Martyrology, and The Soul and Its Raiment. Housed in the Villa’s Library, these sculptures offer a profound insight into the evolution of Wildt’s artistic language and his reflections on pain and inwardness. The exhibition is open from April 15th to June 28th.
