On the occasion of the new exhibition season, spazioSERRA presents Joan Horrach, a contemporary artist based between London and New York. His practice explores the body as a narrative tool through performance, film, drawing, and text, examining how power structures and technology shape physical experience.
At spazioSERRA he is present with Distorted Scenarios No. 1, a project reflecting on the psychological and social dimensions of waiting. Through film, sound, installation, and performance, the space becomes a waiting room inspired by stations, hospitals, and airports, recalling Marc Augé’s notion of “non-places.” The work questions the shared suspension of waiting, highlighting dynamics of isolation, coexistence, and dehumanisation within contemporary systems.
