Symbiotic Spell

Symbiotic Spell, a workshop curated by Giulia Tomasello and Arianna Forte combining biohacking, rituality, and experimental artistic practices. Working with bacteria and microorganisms, participants will create symbiotic cultures and form alliances with the invisible life forms within our bodies. Inspired by Nina Lykke’s Vibrant Death, it explores death as a vibrant process of transformation: intentions, bodily traces, and biological residues become active matter in talismans and collective spells. The workshop concludes with a biohacking ritual that activates the cultures. The event is part of Hello Darkness, BASE Milano’s 2026 program, featuring talks, performances, and participatory practices. The workshop curator, Giulia Tomasello, is a Design Ambassador at BASE Milano.
