Kaufmann Repetto presents Towards, the first solo exhibition in Italy by Korean painter Kim Bohie, opening in Milan on April 15. Her vibrantly colored works convey a strong, empathetic connection with nature and landscape. Trained in traditional East Asian ink painting, she gradually integrated Western techniques such as canvas and acrylic, developing a hybrid style. A pivotal moment was her move to the subtropical island of Jeju, which profoundly influenced the artist's visual language, orienting it toward the observation of the local landscape. Her paintings alternate figuration and abstraction, conveying calm and contemplation, but also visual intensity. They invite us to rediscover a deeper, more spiritual connection with nature.
