On the occasion of Milano Art Week, artist Mohammed El Hajoui presents Apside, a site-specific installation created for Open Casello. Located in the former Porta Genova toll booth, Open Casello is an ecosystem of relationships dedicated to young people under 35: a place to meet, propose, and realize one's own ideas for the city.
The work takes its name from the astronomical term indicating the point of maximum attraction in an orbit: in this vision, Open Casello becomes the center of energy around which the growth path of new generations develops. Stylistically, the intervention establishes a dialogue between the building's neo-Renaissance style and the languages of contemporary Islamic architecture, becoming a symbol of multiculturalism and belonging. The initiative is promoted by BASE Milano together with the Comune di Milano - Assessorato alle Politiche Giovanili and realized with the support of Fondazione Banca Popolare di Milano.
