Triennale Milano hosts the presentation of the catalogue for CC, the solo exhibition by Michael E. Smith, curated by Simone Menegoi and Tommaso Pasquali, on view until 26 April at Palazzo Bentivoglio in Bologna.
Regarded as one of the most influential American artists of his generation, Smith (Detroit, 1977) is known for a practice that explores the psychological and social resonances of consumer objects, through works and installations conceived in close relation to the exhibition space.
The Bologna exhibition is the artist’s second institutional solo show in Italy, following the exhibition at Triennale Milano in 2014, and emerges from Smith’s engagement with the palazzo's undercroft.
Published by CURA.books, the catalogue brings together texts by Romeo Castellucci and the two curators, along with extensive photographic documentation and a rich selection of preparatory
drawings.
