NOTTE presents Marc Chagall. Il Volo Meraviglioso is the first exhibition in Italy in the 2000s dedicated to the artist by a private gallery. The exhibition guides the viewer into a visionary and suspended universe, where lovers, animals, and flowers float between dream and memory, transforming recollection into poetic image. Born in Lëzna in 1887 and deceased in Saint-Paul-de-Vence in 1985, Chagall is among the most lyrical figures of the twentieth century; he anticipates Surrealism by giving form to the unconscious and the imaginary. His painting does not follow chronological time but emotional time, rooted in the Jewish shtetl villages and in his inner lived experiences. Pink, blue, and violet skies, warm interiors, and figures illuminated by vibrant tones turn the window into a gateway to rêverie.
