Vistamare is pleased to present Desperate men, men with broken teeth and broken minds and broken ways, the first solo exhibition by Goshka Macuga at the gallery in Milan.
Goshka Macuga’s latest exhibition explores the tension between destruction and renewal, mirroring the forces that shape both landscapes and human experience. Inspired by the concept of entropy, her work examines the fragile balance between chaos and transformation.
Through painting, Macuga traces the scars left by natural disasters, war, and environmental collapse. Her canvases evoke shifting terrains—fractured yet resilient, forever in flux. A lone figure, wandering through a desolate landscape, becomes a symbol of survival and reinvention.
Drawing from Charles Bukowski’s vision of life’s raw, unpolished beauty, Macuga’s work resists order, embracing rupture and unpredictability. Like the landscapes she portrays, her paintings exist in a perpetual state of becoming—unsettled, explosive, full of surprises.
