miart is taking advantage of the double centenary of the births of American musicians John Coltrane and Miles Davis to embrace one of the intrinsic characteristics of jazz: the ability to transform a well-known standard into fertile ground for innovation.

With the title New Directions—a tribute to Coltrane's celebrated 1963 album, but also a true declaration of intent—miart 2026 embraces a transformation that involves every aspect of its identity: from curatorial content to the dialogue with galleries, from its corporate image to the visitor experience itself.
