Anatomy of the Gaze: How to Read Bodies in Photography workshop and live podcast What if photographs looked back at us? Photography curator and choreographer Federicapaola Capecchi leads a workshop that turns our habits upside down, exploring not how we observe images, but how images question us. Using images ranging from Mapplethorpe to Battaglia and Woodman to Iturbide, participants will explore the photographed body as a political space, a form of writing and relationship. We progress from looking to seeing, from seeing to reading and from reading to questioning. The viewer becomes a co-author of the interpretation.
The event closes with a live podcast exploring emerging reflections and resonances in the audience, and the responsibility of the gaze.
A project by Federicapaola Capecchi.
