“The Moment the Snow Melts” is Chiharu Shiota's site-specific installation presented at MUDEC as a preview of the exhibition “Il Senso della Neve” (The Meaning of Snow). The agora is transformed into an ethereal landscape of suspended threads: a crystallized snowfall that invites meditation on presence in absence. For ARTWEEK, MUDEC presents “TWO HUNDRED YEARS OF JAPAN: FROM THE TŌKAIDŌ ROAD TO THE ART OF CHIHARU SHIOTA,” a talk between Barbara Galentino (travel designer for Turisanda1924 by Alpitour World) and Davide Quadrio (director of the MAO museum in Turin), recounting two centuries of fascination with Japan. Organized with the support of Turisanda1924, Alpitour World's travel brand.
The installation will also be part of a special night opening.
