Roni Doppelt's painting practice is part of a rigorous investigation of surface as an autonomous field of visual inquiry. Her works emerge as spaces of pure chromatic intensity, in which color is no longer a vehicle of representation, but an absolute presence. Through a conscious and layered use of brushstrokes, the artist constructs dense and vibrant surfaces, in which gesture and material intertwine in a dynamic equilibrium. Painting thus establishes itself as an immediate perceptual experience, capable of initiating a direct relationship between work and viewer. In this context, the notion of "pure surface" becomes central: the surface is no longer a support, but an active place where the tension between control and spontaneity, between intention and occurrence, manifests itself.
