Kaufmann Repetto's courtyard project is dedicated to Simone Fattal's new bronze sculpture, The Walker, a life-size figure in motion, accompanied by a rock that follows it like a shadow. Walking male figures—evoking narratives of human displacement and resilience—are a recurring subject in the artist's practice. "Man is an animal that stands," she said of her prophets and wayfarers. "Before he began to think, he stood up." In Fattal's visual universe, wandering the earth, traversing layered histories and ever-changing landscapes, becomes a metaphor for the human existential condition, charged with profound empathy.
