The exhibition, the artist’s first in Milan, presents around ten works created using the media of painting and drawing. Each piece originates from a process grounded in a careful study of materials and the preparation of pigments.
Her painting practice unfolds through a meticulous and precise planning, in a coherent alternation between painted and unpainted areas. Each work stems from an ongoing investigation into the human figure, objects, and plants—particularly ferns, to which she has also devoted an extensive cycle of drawings.
For Sozio, drawing functions both as an autonomous language and as a form of daily study. The notions of limit, threshold, and the precariousness of existence emerge throughout her paintings, referring to an existential as well as social dimension.
