MOUNTAIN ECHOES by Yuval Avital - The voices and sounds of Valtellina in sonic sculptures

Three monumental anthropomorphic sculptures create a choral acoustic landscape of voices, songs, and natural and urban sounds collected in Valtellina. Made with locally sourced resin-coated fabrics, they house sound systems that turn each work into a space for listening and contemplation.

Inaugurated on January 23–24, 2026, in Sondrio, Bormio, and Tirano, they were presented alongside the photographic exhibition MOUNTAIN ECHOES IN VALTELLINA: The Artist’s Gaze, featuring Avital’s photographs.

From April 13 to 26, for Milano Art Week and Milano Design Week, the sculptures and exhibition will be shown together at the Bagni Misteriosi of Teatro Franco Parenti, symbolically bringing the mountain into the city as a cultural legacy of Milano Cortina 2026.
