Homage to Latin America

The Emilio Scanavino Foundation and the Alik Cavaliere Art Center, in collaboration with Ida Pisani's Prometeogallery, present the restaging of Omaggio all'America Latina (1971), the monumental work conceived by Cavaliere and Scanavino for the 11th São Paulo Biennial, with the performance “Homage to Latin America – VEILING” by Regina José Galindo during Milan Art Week 2026, on Tuesday, April 14, at 5:00 pm at the Scanavino Foundation. More than fifty years after its diplomatic exclusion, the work returns to center stage not as a historical document, but as a living presence. The project does not simply exhibit a masterpiece of the late twentieth century: it reactivates it through dialogue with a performative intervention by Regina José Galindo, one of the most radical and recognized figures in international contemporary art.
