Tommaso Calabro’s second Project Room in Milan hosts the Italian-Bosnian artist Adelisa Selimbašić (Karlsruhe, 1996). In her painting, Selimbašić transfigures the concept of femininity and explores the representation of the body, transforming it into a tool for direct and intimate communication. Her works resonate with the spirit of body positivity, sisterhood, and feminism, subtly revealing an echo of shared humanity. A new series of paintings embodies an evolution in Selimbašić’s perspective: suspended between light and color, and defined by a sculptural approach to painting, her bodies now tend to abstract, dissolving over time until they become ageless.
