SE TURI FOSSE is the first chapter of an annual project promoted by the Fondazione Archivio Turi Simeti, conceived in the lead-up to the centenary of the artist in 2029. Invited to engage with Simeti’s work within the space that once housed his studio and home — now shared with the
Martina Simeti gallery — Matilde Cassani has conceived a series of objects in dialogue with the artist’s practice.

The project takes shape through a frame that highlights a lesser-known dimension of Simeti’s research. The dialogue with Cassani develops from this opening, proposing a path intended to reveal a more personal dimension connected to the place where
Simeti spent over thirty years together with the Brazilian artist Essila Paraiso.
